1. Scope

These terms of use apply to the website www.androidhit.de (“AndroidHIT”) and to all functions offered through it. By using the service you accept these terms.

2. The service

AndroidHIT is a directory for Android applications. Part of the entries is imported automatically from the free F-Droid repository; the corresponding package files are delivered unchanged from the F-Droid servers through our server. In addition, registered users can publish their own apps. We also offer editorial content in a magazine section.

Using the directory and downloading apps is free of charge and possible without an account. There is no claim to permanent availability; we may change, restrict or discontinue the service.

3. Registration and accounts

An account is required to publish apps. The information provided during registration must be complete and correct. Keep your credentials secret; you are responsible for actions taken through your account. We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms or applicable law.

4. Publishing your own apps

By uploading an app you confirm that

  • you hold all necessary rights to the app, its descriptions, icons and screenshots,
  • the app contains no malware, no hidden data collection and no misleading functionality,
  • the app and its description do not infringe third-party rights or applicable law,
  • the package name you enter matches the one inside the package,
  • for commercial offers you provide the legally required legal pages (imprint, privacy policy and, if applicable, terms); these are linked on your app pages.

The maximum file size is 100 MB per package. You grant AndroidHIT the non-exclusive, royalty-free and revocable right to store, reproduce, make publicly available and display in reduced preview versions the uploaded files and content for the purpose of providing them in the directory. All other rights remain with you.

5. Checking uploads

Every uploaded file is submitted to VirusTotal for malware scanning and is only published after a clean report. This check is automated assistance and not a guarantee of correctness or safety. We may hold back or remove apps and suspend accounts where there is reasonable suspicion of legal violations or malware.

6. Using the downloads

The software licences stated by the respective rights holders apply to the apps offered here. AndroidHIT is not the manufacturer of these applications and gives no warranty for their function, security or timeliness. Installing applications from third-party sources is at your own risk.

7. Prohibited use

In particular, it is prohibited to scrape the site to an extent that impairs its operation, to circumvent technical protection measures, to publish unlawful content, and to use the service in any way that infringes the rights of others.

8. Liability

We are fully liable for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. In cases of slight negligence we are only liable for the breach of a material contractual obligation and limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. For user-generated content and the content of linked sites we are liable in accordance with statutory provisions; as soon as we become aware of an infringement we remove the content concerned without delay.

9. Reporting unlawful content

You can report violations at any time through our contact form. Please describe the content concerned as precisely as possible and provide evidence of your ownership.

10. Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms where this is necessary for legal or technical reasons. Registered users will be informed about material changes by email.

The version published on this page applies. Earlier versions are neither archived nor versioned; only the text available here is authoritative.

11. Language of the contract

These terms of use are legally binding in German only. This English text is a translation provided for convenience; in case of any discrepancy the German version prevails.

12. Final provisions

German law applies unless mandatory consumer protection provisions state otherwise. Should individual provisions be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
