Description
Wortmühle ("word mill") is a daily German word puzzle: build as many German words as you can from the nine letters on the 3×3 mill board. Every word must use the center letter, and every puzzle contains at least one pangram — a word using all nine letters.
Features:
• One new puzzle every day, with the last seven days replayable
• ~2800 puzzles built in — works fully offline
• Scoring based on German Scrabble letter values, with a pangram bonus
• Optional: tap a found word for its definition (from de.wiktionary.org — the only online feature, off by default)
• Light/dark mode selectable (follows the system otherwise)
• No tracking, no ads, no accounts, no Google services
The INTERNET permission exists solely for these Wiktionary lookups, and they are opt-in: unless you enable word definitions in the settings, the app never touches the network. Without a connection it says so in place of the definition; the game itself works fully offline.
Note: the game and its vocabulary are entirely in German. The word list is derived from free sources (igerman98 word list, de.wiktionary, OpenSubtitles frequency data).
What’s new (1.1)
New settings (gear icon): system/light/dark theme and word definitions. The online lookup via de.wiktionary.org is now opt-in and off by default — the app never touches the network unless you enable it.
