Description
Why? asks one question each time you unlock your phone: what brings you here?
Tap a reason, tap "Just habit", or type your own. Over the days you see what really pulls you to your phone, and when.
What you get
• A question after each unlock, with your reasons sorted for the time of day
• Today's jar: every unlock drops a pebble. Tilt the phone and the pebbles roll.
• A week view: daily jars, where the time went, and your habit hours
• A gentle check-in when you stay longer than you planned
• An evening summary with the day's numbers
• Typed answers you use often can become reasons with one tap
Private by design
• Everything stays on your phone
• No internet permission, no accounts, no ads, no tracking
• Never reads which apps you use: it only notices unlocks and screen off
Permissions
• Display over other apps: to show the question
• Notifications: Android needs a small notification to keep the app running
• Battery set to "Unrestricted" (recommended), so Android does not stop the app
Free and open source.
What’s new (1.0.2)
Pebbles bump into each other by their real shape, and larger ones weigh more. You can silence the check-in until the phone locks.
