PebbleNTN

PebbleNTN — Pebble Notification To Navigation — puts the turn-by-turn directions from your phone's navigation app onto your Pebble watch, so you don't have to reach for your phone while you ride, walk or drive.

It works by reading your navigation app's notifications on the phone and sending the next step to the watch: distance, road name, and — depending on the app — the maneuver arrow and ETA. Nothing is sent to any server — the notification is parsed on your device and forwarded to your paired Pebble over the local connection.

Supported navigation apps:

* Google Maps (English plus German, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch) — maneuver arrow, distance, road and ETA
* Organic Maps — distance and road; the watch shows a neutral turn marker (no ETA)
* CoMaps — distance and road; the watch shows a neutral turn marker (no ETA)
* OsmAnd — distance and road; the watch shows a neutral turn marker (no ETA)

Full maneuver arrows and ETA for these apps depend on data they don't currently put in the notification text; support may improve in a future update.

More apps can be added without a new release: PebbleNTN uses a small, declarative rule set to recognise each app's notifications. You can write your own rules for an unsupported app, or share an anonymised capture log to help add official support.

Permissions:

* Notification access — to read the navigation app's turn-by-turn notification (this is the core function)
* Internet — used only for an optional, off-by-default weekly check for a newer version on GitHub; it sends no personal data

Requires a paired Pebble watch and the Pebble/Rebble companion app installed on the phone. The matching Pebble watchapp is distributed separately (Rebble app store / .pbw).
