Description

Type Malayalam the way you text: in Manglish. Type ente keralam and get എന്റെ കേരളം.

Ezhuthola (എഴുത്തോല, the palm-leaf manuscript) is a free, open-source Malayalam keyboard. It asks for no permissions at all, not even internet, so nothing you type ever leaves your phone. No ads, no accounts, no tracking.

Malayalam (Manglish)

  • Type in English letters and get Malayalam: njan → ഞാൻ, adipoli → അടിപൊളി
  • Its own transliteration engine, written from scratch
  • Word suggestions ranked by how often Malayalam words are really used
  • Word forms with endings: keralathil → കേരളത്തിൽ
  • Learns your words: the spellings you pick come first next time
  • English words in Malayalam mode are written the Malayali way: four → ഫോർ, station → സ്റ്റേഷൻ

English

  • Word suggestions and completion
  • Autocorrect, with backspace to undo it
  • Knows chat words like bro, tbh and ngl, and leaves your Manglish alone
  • A Missing words list in settings shows words it doesn't know yet, so you can add them

Stickers

  • Make your own from a photo: trace, magic wand, eraser and shapes, with a white border
  • Or big Malayalam text stickers in four Malayalam fonts
  • Add stickers you already have: pictures, or .wastickers packs
  • Sent as real stickers in WhatsApp, made and kept on your phone

Everything else

  • One tap on the yellow ola key switches between Malayalam and English
  • Emoji search in English, Manglish and Malayalam: love, chiri, sneham, ചിരി
  • Clipboard history: tap to paste, hold to pin. Passwords and OTPs are never saved
  • Themes: Numio, Black & White, Light, Blue Night, or your own photo
  • Number hints on the top row, ₹ on both symbol pages
