Description
DavNotes is a simple note app for Android. Your notes are stored as VJOURNAL entries in a CalDAV collection on your own server and synced both ways.
It works offline. Changes are saved on the phone right away and sent to the server as soon as you are online again.
Features
- Create, edit, search and delete notes with a title, text and tags. Plain text only.
- Saves automatically while you type and when you leave a note.
- Syncs when you open the app, after every change, with pull to refresh and about every 15 minutes.
- Never overwrites a note blindly. If a note was changed both here and somewhere else, your version is saved as a new note with "(conflict)" in the title. Text is never merged.
- Shares the collection with other clients, such as jtx Board via DAVx⁵. Properties set by other apps are kept unchanged when you edit a note.
- Finds your collections on the server and can create a new notes collection.
- The password is encrypted with a key in the Android Keystore. HTTPS only.
- In English, Danish, German, French and Spanish.
Requirements
A CalDAV server that supports sync-collection (RFC 6578). DavNotes is developed and tested with Radicale 3.
No ads, no tracking, no accounts other than your own server.
What’s new (1.1.1)
Create notes collection now works when the address is the server root: the collection is created under your user and the address is filled in. A server without CalDAV gives a clear error instead of "error 0".
