Chompass - Calorie Tracker

Chompass is an ad-free, privacy-focused calorie tracker forked from Fud AI. Log meals with photos, voice, barcode scans, or text. Bring your own cloud AI key (Google AI Studio, OpenRouter, etc.) or use optional on-device Gemma 4 inference. Nothing is sent to a server unless you choose a cloud provider.

Food logging
• Multi-photo capture, share-into-app, voice, barcode, manual entry, saved meals and recipes
• Barcode scan with Open Food Facts lookup (4.6M+ products, cached for offline use); photo analysis can read codes from the image
• Optional on-device AI (Gemma 4 via LiteRT-LM): one-time model download, opt-in, arm64 with 6 GB+ RAM

Progress & health
• Live calorie budget: the home ring grows your daily goal with the day's burn, measured via Health Connect, added manually, or estimated from your 14-day active average
• Weight, body fat, calorie history, goals, steps and exercise
• Health Connect sync (two-way): write meals, weight, body fat, height; read sleep, heart rate, hydration, steps, energy
• Optional local water tracking and home-screen widgets

Privacy
• No ads, no analytics SDKs, no accounts
• Local-first storage; encrypted API keys on device
• Diary and body-metrics export (JSON, Markdown, CSV)

• Opening the app no longer crashes on some Huawei phones: on older EMUI based on Android 10, tapping the icon could close the app before Home appeared when the language follows the system
• German water and serving labels: the next-drink line now says Nächste, the water widget shows only the amount and time, and cup, tablespoon and teaspoon use Cup, EL and TL. The serving card labels the unit column Einheit
• Switching to maintain updates calories right away: changing the goal from lose or gain
