Temperance Companion

Temperance Companion is an offline-first companion app for the Obsidian Temperans plugin. It acts as a privacy-respecting bridge that queries Android Health Connect for health and fitness metrics, tracks custom habit sessions (counters and timers), and stages data directly into your local Obsidian vault.

Key Features:
- Habit Tracking: Track custom habits with elapsed-time timers and rep/quantity counters. Includes quick-increment presets and monotonic elapsed timing.
- Health Connect Integration: Reads permission-granted metrics (such as sleep, hydration, nutrition, steps, exercise, and heart rate) without third-party cloud sync.
- Obsidian Staging: Exports a verified staging document (.temperance-staging.json) directly into your chosen Obsidian Habit Logs folder using Android Storage Access Framework.
- Customizable & Reorderable: Create habits with custom units, drag-and-drop ordering, and customizable quick increments.
- 100% Offline & Private: Requires NO Internet permission. Zero telemetry, zero analytics, zero developer backend. Your data never leaves your device unless synced by your chosen vault sync tool.

Note: Health Connect features are available on Android 14 and newer. For Android 9–13 devices, Health Connect is intentionally disabled by design to comply with F-Droid guidelines and avoid non-free dependencies (the nonfreedep anti-feature). All core habit-tracking and offline vault staging functions remain fully available.
